Jim
Davis from Vero Beach, FL sent us some cool old pictures and a bit of
background on the history of our studios (back when it was WNIA).
Thanks, Jim!
"I was delighted to see that WECK has returned to it's
roots at 2900 Genesee Street. I started my career in radio 48 years ago
in the summer of 1960 when the station was only 5 years old. I
was Mac McGuire (the live wire) and worked under Mary Lounsberry, who
was the GM at the time for .90 cents an hour (and all the records I
could steal). If that old building could talk, there are so many
stories that could be told. I've attached a couple of pictures of the
control room circa the early 60s. Thought you might enjoy. Best
of luck with the station."
